COMMON QUESTIONS
Do all my outlets need to be GFCI?
Kitchens, bathrooms, exterior locations, and basements typically need GFCI protection; most other rooms don't unless there's a specific reason. We check each location rather than assuming a blanket answer.
Can any smart switch go in any location?
Most smart switches need a neutral wire present in the box, and older Boston housing sometimes doesn't have one run there. We check the box before you buy hardware, so you're not stuck with a switch that won't actually work.
Is a warm or discolored outlet an emergency?
Worth having looked at soon — a warm plate or discoloration usually means a loose connection or overload building up heat. Not always an emergency, but not something to keep using while you wait either.
